Mt. Rainier is shrouded by clouds moving into the region in this view from the South end of Mercer Island on Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Ten minutes earlier and it would have been a really nice frame, but from the I-90 bridge to my vantage point takes a few. Still, I personally enjoy ANY day where I can see “the mountain.”
It’s good to remember your surroundings while waiting for a meeting or event, as is the case with this photo of the sunrise over Mt. Rainer. I was waiting to photograph singer John Legend on the fourth floor of the Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue on Monday when I captured this view.
Cold weather settled across the region this past week, in some areas setting record low temperatures for this time of year. Here are some scenes from the Eastside around Bellevue and Mercer Island. I will be updating this post as I get more cold weather coverage from our sister newsrooms. All photos by Reporter staff photographer Chad Coleman, except where noted.
