Deep Freeze

December 9th, 2009 at Wed, 9th, 2009 at 4:57 pm by Chad Coleman

Cold weather settled across the region this past week, in some areas setting record low temperatures for this time of year. Here are some scenes from the Eastside around Bellevue and Mercer Island. I will be updating this post as I get more cold weather coverage from our sister newsrooms. All photos by Reporter staff photographer Chad Coleman, except where noted.

Hoar frost grows on a post at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue, December 9, 2009. For what it’s worth, this shot was taken with my iPhone, as it had better macro capabilities then the DSLR lenses I had with me. The best camera is the one that is with you…

The severe cold weather has changed the hazards at Kent Ice Centre’s miniature golf course, till the river thaws and the ice wall turns back to a waterfall you will not have to add a stroke for the water hazards but play it where it lies. Photo by Charles Cortes/Kent Reporter.
