Irina Akimova, of the Ukraine, practices her hoops routine on stage for the upcoming Cirque Du Soleil production, KOOZA, at Marymoor Park in Redmond on Tuesday, June 1. The images above were shot at a 1-second exposure, hand-held creating the dream-like quality of light and motion. More images and look in the Artistic Tent after the jump…

In this set of images I stopped the action during Irina’s practice session under the big top on Tuesday.

The stage under the big top for KOOZA. Unfortunately my wide-angle lens (Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8) is out for repair, so this is as wide a shot I could get from one of my backup lenses at 28mm and f/4.

Audience seats wait to be filled for under the big top for the upcoming performance run of KOOZA starting June 3rd, at Marymoor Park.

Dance performer Mike Tyus, who plays the character “Trickster,” waits to practice on the stage on Tuesday.
